Regent Taipei
Regent · IHG Hotels & Resorts
Who runs this hotel?
Three different companies can sit behind one hotel. How this works
- OperatorThe company responsible for the hotel's day-to-day operations — hiring and training staff, service, food and beverage, housekeeping and revenue management. It can be different from both the owner and the brand.
- Silks Hotel Group →
- BrandThe name on the door. The brand company sets standards and supplies the reservation system and loyalty programme — but it does not always run the hotel itself.
- Regent → · IHG Hotels & Resorts
- Management model
- Owner-operated by Silks Hotel Group
Not the brand company — Regent supplies the name; Silks Hotel Group runs the hotel.

The 2018 IHG–FIH strategic-partnership announcement states: 'FIH shall retain exclusive rights to develop and manage future developments under the Regent brand in Taiwan, including the management of the Regent Taipei Hotel.' Regent Taipei carries an IHG brand but remains operated by Taiwan's Silks Hotel Group (formerly FIH Regent Group, listed on the Taiwan stock exchange). This corrects an earlier brand-default assumption of IHG operation.
